The Avon Rotary ~ Lions Ambulance
provides both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support
(ALS) to the Town and Village of Avon. Through Mutual Aid,
Avon Rotary ~ Lions Ambulance Service provides mutual aid, either
BLS or ALS Ambulances or ALS Intercept Services to the surrounding
townships when their crews are out on calls of their own or when for
some unforeseen circumstance, can not crew their own ambulances.
The Avon Rotary ~ Lions Ambulance
Service operate two BLS/ALS ambulances. The ambulances are
equipped with both BLS and ALS equipment, to provide the best care
for their patients.
The Avon Rotary ~ Lions Ambulance
Service operate a ALS Intercept Car, commonly called a"Fly Car"
or Medic 70. When ALS qualified personal are available,
Medic 70 will respond directly to the scene ahead of the ambulance
to start patient care.
Future plans are being developed so
when ALS qualified personal are not available, a qualified
EMT can respond with the fly car, possibly to be called Defib 70,
directly to the scene ahead of the ambulance to provide faster
patient care.

Monday thru Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm the Avon Rotary ~ Lions
Ambulance Service contract with OCALS - Ontario Count Advanced
Life Support for ALS coverage.
